How it works
A parametric lease sets rent by a formula tied to numbers neither side controls. Here that's the province's official yield for the rural municipality and a public regional grain price. Good year, landowner shares the upside. Bad year, tenant pays less.
Why the RM average protects privacy: flex leases usually die because the tenant has to show the landlord their own yields. QuarterRent never asks. It uses the RM average, which both sides can look up.
Basis risk is the gap between one field and the RM average. The base rent, the floor and the cap handle it, so no single field number ever enters the formula.
